Numele ei la naştere a fost Theodula. Ea a fost fiica lui Mihail Vsevolodovici, şi logodnica lui Mina, Cneazul Suzdalului. Ea nu a voit deloc să se mărite, şi s-a rugat lui Dumnezeu să o păzească întru feciorie pînă la moarte. Pe cînd o duceau la Suzdal pentru cununie, logodnicul ei, Mina, a murit subit. Sfînta Eufrosina atunci nu s-a mai întors la casa părinţilor ei, ci a intrat într-o mînăstire din Suzdal, unde s-a nevoit călugăreşte pînă la moartea ei. Dumnezeu a învrednicit-o de darul facerii de minuni. Ea s-a săvîrşit cu pace către Domnul la anul 1250.
