Ea a fost o tînără în vîrstă de optsprezece ani din satul Zaklivera, din eparhia Jedrene. Tatăl ei s-a făcut musulman şi voia ca şi fiica lui să facă la fel, dar maica ei, creştină, o susţinea şi o întărea în Credinţa lui Hristos în care îşi crescuse fiica. După ce a fost torturată bestial, prefăcută din cap pînă în picioare într-o rană sîngerîndă, ea şi-a dat sufletul ei sfînt pe genunchii maicii sale, şi s-a încununat cu cununa nemuritoarei slave în douăzeci şi şapte de zile ale lui septembrie, din anul 1764.
