El s-a nascut la Bitola si s-a nevoit întru calugareasca viata la Mînastirea Sfintilor Doctori fara de arginti Cosma si Damian, împreuna cu tatal lui, Pahomie, care de asemenea s-a tuns monah. Dupa aceea el a mers la Karyes, unde si-a continuat viata de nevointe si osteneli la Chilia Sfintilor Arhangheli, sub calauzirea Batrînilor Filoteu si Dionisie. Biruind si calcînd peste sarpele invidiei, peste atacurile dracilor si peste bolile cele grele, el a trecut la vesnica pace a împaratiei lui Hristos în cinci zile ale lunii decembrie, din anul 1500. Sfintele lui moaste nestricate si pline de buna mireasma odihnesc si astazi întru a lui chilie.
