Се подвизуваше во својот манастир близу едно езеро крај градот Арсиној и на патот кон спасението раководеше со мноштво браќа. Негов близок другар и советник беше авва Јосиф. Еднаш Лот му рече на Јосиф: „Авво, постам колку што можам, ги држам молитвата и безмолвието и богомислието, и според својата сила се чувам од скверните помисли. Што уште, значи, да правам?“ Тогаш Старецот стана, ги крена рацете кон небото и неговите десет прсти заблескаа како десет пламени јазици. Па му одогвори: „Ако сакаш, сиот биди оган!“ Откако Му угоди на Бога и многумина ги поучи на патот кон спасението, Св. Лот се упокои мирно во 5 век.
