По потекло од благородничко бугарско семејство. Кога родителите сакаа да го оженат, побегна на Света Гора. Пустиник и чудотворец. Се подвизуваше во пештера близу манастирот Зограф. Повеќепати му се јави Пресвета Богородица. Тој е најголемиот зографски подвижник и чудотворец. Страшната келија во којашто се подвизуваше и се бореше со демоните и денес постои северозападно од манастирот Зограф. Беше проѕорлив со духот и ги опишуваше настаните што се случуваа на далечина во времето и просторот. Се упокои на старост, на 22 септември 1323 година и после живот во многу трудови се пресели во радоста на својот Господ.
