წმიდა თესალონიკია წარმართი ქურუმის ასული იყო. როცა უსჯულო მამამ შეიტყო, რომ მისი ქალიშვილი ქრისტიანი იყო, დაუნდობლად სცემა იგი, შემდეგ კი, ერთი ცნობით, სახლიდან გააგდო, სხვა წყაროს თანახმად კი - საპყრობილეში ჩააგდო. წმიდა ავქტი და ტავრიონი შეეცადნენ, გამოსარჩლებოდნენ ნეტარს და მისი გამხეცებული მამა გონს მოეყვანათ, ქურუმმა კი დაასმინა და შეაპყრობინა ისინი. წმიდანებმა მტკიცედ აღიარეს ქრისტე მტარვალთა წინაშე, რისთვისაც ისინი სასტიკად აწამეს, ბოლოს კი თავები მოჰკვეთეს. მარტვილთა ნეტარი აღსასრულიდან მცირე ხნის შემდეგ ტანჯვით შეჰვედრა სული უფალს თესალონიკიამაც. მისი წმიდა ცხედარი ავქტისა და ტავრიონის ნაწილებთან ერთად პატივით დაკრძალეს მაკედონიის ქალაქ ამფიპოლში.
