Pyhittäjä Stefanos Sabbaslainen, joka tunnetaan myös nimellä Stefanos Hymnografi, eli askeettista elämäänsä Palestiinan pyhän Sabbaksen lavrassa. Hän ja Andreas Sokea olivat ensimmäisiä, jotka sävelsivät hymnejä (idiomeloja) pääsiäistä edeltävälle jaksolle publikaanin ja fariseuksen sunnuntaista palmusunnuntaihin. Hän ei ole sama henkilö kuin toinen Stefanos Sabbaslainen, jonka muistopäivä on 13. heinäkuuta. Stefanos Hymnografi Sabbaslainen kuoli vuonna 807 ja tuo toinen Stefanos Sabbaslainen vuonna 794.
