Als hl. Julita einst einen Rechtsstreit um ein unrechtmäßiger Weise von ihr genommenes Vermögen mit einem Mitbürger hatte, und dieser erklärte, dass sie Christin sei und deswegen auf den Schutz der Gesetze keinen Anspruch habe, da schlug der Richter ihr vor, ein Götzenopfer zu bringen, mit dem Versprechen, ihr dafür zu ihrem Rechte zu verhelfen; sie aber weigerte sich, Christus zu verleugnen und wurde dafür ins Feuer geworfen. Dieses geschah unter Kaiser Diokletian zu Käsaria in Kapadokien.
