Er stammte aus hohem fürstlichen Geschlecht, und war ein Verwandter des hl. Großfürsten von Moskau, Dmitrij Donskoi (Gedenktag: 1. Juni (19. Mai). Seine edle Abstammung verbergend, nahm er das Leben eines um Christi willen Einfältigen auf sich. Er verließ Moskau und begab sieh zum Klopskij Kloster des Hegumenos Feodosij, 15 Werst von Nowgorod, wo er als Mönch 44 Jahre wohnte. Er voraussagte den Fall Nowgorods in der Geburtsstunde des Zaren Johannes IV. Der Heilige starb am 11. Januar zwischen 1453-1456 und ist bestattet in der dortigen Hl.-Dreifaltigkeits-Kirche.
