Der hl. zehn Märtyrer: Theodulus und seine Gefährten Saturninus, Euporus, Gelasius, Eunician, Zoticus, Pompeius (Pontius), Agathopius, Basilides und Evaristus stammten alle aus verschieden Städten von Kreta. In der Christenverfolgung unter Kaiser Decius (249-251) wurden sie als Christen verfolgt gefangen genommen. 30 Tage lang wurden sie gefoltert, doch standhaft bekennten sich zu Christus. Schließlich wurden alle zehn Märtyrer mit dem Schwert auf Kreta enthauptet (250).
