诞神女圣像起初在君士坦丁堡，但是在1383年，也就是在君士坦丁堡陷落70年前的公元1453年，当时这个圣像突然出现在俄罗斯北部的蒂克文城的上空。圣像降落到地上，就在圣像降落的地方修建了一个修道院和一座教堂。这个圣像以该城市的名字命名。这个圣像曾经出现过不少奇迹，尤其是治愈了很多人的疾病。
