Друго Бденије San Cirillo, arcivescovo di Gerusalemme San Cirillo nacque a Gerusalemme, o nelle sue vicinanze, attorno al 313-315 ed ebbe una formazione religiosa. Fu ordinato sacerdote da san Massimo, vescovo di Gerusalemme. Nel 348 terminò le sue 25 catechesi, considerate la più antica e sistematica sintesi della dottrina cristiana, nonché i suoi più importanti scritti.
